The Live Coaches

We’re moving into a new phase for The Live Coaches. Chapter two. A week ago, we released the final episode of the first season of our podcast. The conclusion of a year’s work and the biggest project I’ve undertaken up to this point. It was much more work than I expected. I learned a ton about everything from interviewing to audio production and storytelling techniques, and even though there are a thousand things I would now do differently, I’m super proud of what we made.

In the past months chapter two has already begun to take shape. We’re doing our first coaching’s and workshops with artists and are further developing our vision into a method for storytelling in live concert environments. We also plan on putting even more resources on our website and I’m already starting to work on new projects within The Live Coaches that will explore the topic further still.

Radical Change

This year I set a theme for myself. The theme is ‘radical change’. In 2020 I experienced a lot of sudden and lasting changes in my daily habits and life in general. I started to get up early, trained, meditated, ate healthy, read, and started a daily journal. It was like I grew ten years in one, it felt amazing. In 2021 some of those changes solidified and others fell by the wayside, but as a person I had already been permanently changed.

This year is an exercise in recognizing upcoming change early and then acting on it straight away. As if painting a self-portrait of a future self in the now. I look in the mirror, imagine a future self and try to bring as much of that self into the current moment as fast as possible. The changes range from buying new clothes to taking vacations (something I’ve been bad at my whole adult life) and from moving house to selling most of my musical instruments.

It’s only been three months and a lot has changed. But for it to be a success still more needs to change. If on the first of January 2023 I find myself unable to imagine quite what it was like to be me on January first 2022, the year will have been a success.
