The Live Coaches Turned 3

On October 5th it was exactly 3 years ago since Melanie Esther and I first met up in a coffee place in Amsterdam to discuss the possibilities of working together. We thought of the name “The Live Coaches” in that very first meeting, having no idea yet what would become of it.
The past 3 years have been a process of gradually exploring and expanding our perspectives on live experiences in music. It still feels like we are only getting started and I take that as a good sign. Most of what we’ve done so far has been online-based or in the form of conceptual knowledge. The podcast, the website, our method for developing live experiences.
We had talked about giving the artists we work with a goody bag. Perhaps in a branded tote bag. So, to celebrate this 3 year anniversary, I thought I’d bring a little piece of The Live Coaches into the real world by printing 2 tote bags for us.
Happy birthday us. There is a lot in the works that will make this all way more real. I will be able to talk more about that soon.

Values and Value

Increasingly thinking about what my priorities should be in life (e.g. fun & enjoyment vs. ambition & long term goals) and what kind of work would enable me in particular to add the most value for others. No great insights, just gathering clues at this point.

Other Current Thoughts and Processes

Have been reading lots of biographies this year. Life trajectories interest me at the moment.
Have been training and running lots lately. Really enjoying it. Might make it a goal to run my first marathon in 2024.
Have been living in Rotterdam for a year now. Still getting to know the city, but also used to it by now. Will probably stay another year, but may move on after that.
