The Live Coaches 2.0

This month The Live Coaches turns two years old. Crazy! In April we released the final episode of the first season of our podcast. Since then, we’ve focused on sharing our knowledge and vision on live through coaching and workshops. Honing our method and ways of sharing every step of the way.

We are still finding deeper meanings, new perspectives, and more connections every week, and we are getting more and more opportunities to share. In the past six weeks alone we’ve given a workshop to artists from the current Popronde selection, given three 3-hour lectures at Haarlem conservatory, and two workshops at Artez Popacademy. With more to come in the coming weeks.

This month we will start working on a second version of our podcast, coming soon with a new concept and fresh insights and ideas. I’m grateful and super excited for what’s to come. Can’t wait!

Radical Change

This year I set a theme for myself, ‘radical change’. In 2020 I experienced a lot of sudden and lasting changes in my daily habits and life in general. It was like I grew ten years in one, it felt amazing. In 2021 some of those changes solidified and others fell by the wayside, but as a person I had already been permanently changed.

This year is an exercise in recognizing upcoming change early and then acting on it straight away. As if painting a self-portrait of a future self in the now. I look in the mirror, imagine a future self and try to bring as much of that self into the current moment as fast as possible. The changes range from buying new clothes to taking vacations and from moving house to selling most of my musical instruments.

Rotterdam

My intention of radical change has been steadily coming to fruition. Last week I moved house for the second time this year. This time moving out to Rotterdam, after having lived in Tilburg for almost 9 years. A new context for me to explore a new version of myself. Lots of things are changing quickly, all at once. I will stop giving music lessons after December, moving away further from my old musician-self. I don’t know how I will make a living or where I’ll live from January onwards. Scary times, but also exciting. I’m growing and trusting that I will find my way.

It’s only been three months and a lot has changed. But for it to be a success still more needs to change. If on the first of January 2023 I find myself unable to imagine quite what it was like to be me on January first 2022, the year will have been a success.
